Angel's Kiss Alpaca Yarn is a blend of 60% alpaca fleece and 40% merino wool. We chose this blend so that our yarn would have greater versatility for the needleworker, yet retain the hallmark softness of alpaca. We raise suri alpacas and so use suri fleece in the yarn. Suri fleece is as lustrous as silk and adds a lovely dimension to the yarn.
Angel's Kiss Alpaca Yarn is made with only US alpaca fleece. We sort and scour the fleece at our workshop in Wisconsin, using only environmentally-friendly products, and have it spun in Pennsylvania at one of the few remaining U.S. mills.
Angel's Kiss Alpaca Yarn is kettle-dyed at our shop in Wisconsin. We create jewel tones, pastels and deep, rich colors, some with interesting tonal variegations within each skein. We also are excited to offer tonal degrees of green (Cedar, Cyan Tones and Mint), red (Tomato, Salmon Tones, and Rose), purple (Ravin', Purple Tones, and Ice) and yellow (Squash, Amber Tones, and Lemon), which are from the same dyepot. We also offer yarn that is not dyed in natural colors of ivory and brown heather. Gray heather is planned for the future.
Angel's Kiss Alpaca Yarn is available in worsted weight (220 yards/100 grams per skein) and bulky weight (110 yards/100 grams per skein). We intend to offer additional weights in the near future.
Angel's Kiss Alpaca Yarn is available a for purchase at retail yarn stores and alpaca farm stores. We recently increased our production for broader distribution. To support local retailers, we do not sell our products online and, instead, direct interested customers to retailers where it can be purchased.
